Reg Cribb is a highly accomplished writer for the stage and screen with an impressive list of credits.
His career highlights include his play and film adaption of Last Cab To Darwin (2015) which won him an AACTA Best Adapted Screenplay award, as well as his first play and film adaption of The Return, re-titled as a feature Last Train To Freo (2006), which was most popular Australian Film at the Melbourne International Film Festival. In 2009 he co-wrote the box office hit Bran Nue Dae for which he was nominated for an AFI award. His plays have been critically acclaimed touring nationally and internationally to festivals and most are in print with Currency Press.
At 5.30 pm join Reg Cribb, Charlie De Salis, Screenworks Members and attendees for drinks and finger food before our guest speakers take the stage in conversation in the SAE Theatre from 7 pm.
Reg Cribb will discuss his career highlights, his transition to writing, and current projects.

Reg Cribb is an accomplished writer for the stage and screen. Reg has won an AACTA award for Best Adapted Screenplay, the Patrick White Playwright’s Award, two WA Premier’s Literary Awards, the major WA Premier’s award, a NSW Premier’s Literary Award and a QLD Literary Premier’s Award. He has been nominated for many more awards including four AWGIEs and two AFI’s for Best Adapted Screenplay.
Reg adapted his play LAST CAB TO DARWIN as a feature film, directed by Jeremy Sims and starring Michael Caton and Jackie Weaver. The film was nominated for eight AACTA awards and won Best Adapted Screenplay; and was nominated for an AWGIE for Best Adapted Feature.
Reg’s true-crime screenplay, THE GREAT MINT SWINDLE, produced by Cordell Jigsaw aired on Channel 9 in 2012. Reg co-wrote BRAN NUE DAE, for which he was nominated for an AFI award. Reg co-wrote BRAN NUE DAE for which he was nominated for an AFI award for Best Adapted Screenplay for.
Reg adapted his first play, THE RETURN, re-titled LAST TRAIN TO FREO as a feature film directed by Jeremy Sims and produced by Sue Taylor. The screenplay was nominated for an AFI award for Best Adapted Screenplay and won the 2005 WA Premier’s Script Award.

Charlie is a screenwriter, story consultant, script editor, director, producer and screen content creator. His screen credits include feature films, television drama, short films and documentaries, including two feature documentaries for cinema release.
