Media Resource Centre‘s two day 2016 New Screen Makers Conference brings some of the country’s most successful comedy, drama and documentary – producers, directors, writers and broadcasters together to talk about the trends, opportunities and pathways for filmmakers wanting to build and sustain a professional career.
Screenworks has teamed up with Media Resource Centre and SAE Institute Byron Bay to host a Conference Hub, where you will be able to come, connect with other local filmmakers and watch a broadcast the conference here in the Northern Rivers.

About the 2016 New Screen Makers Conference:
In 2016, the focus is Comedy, Drama and Documentary as they are the current winning pathways for the next generation, providing unprecedented access for new talent through new strategies and platforms. Australian comedy is experiencing a renaissance domestically and impacting internationally with broadcast and VOD platforms. While documentaries are creating greater impact with the help of philanthropic grants, partnerships and grass root strategies, contributing to major, exciting conversations about strategic and innovative social change.
The NSMC comprises of seminars, networking event and an Impact Documentary Hack. The Impact Doco Hack led by key documentary speakers will look at two projects sourced through a national call-out in order to identify what the projects needs to take it to the next stage.
