Henri "Renoir" Rennie
A playwright for over forty years (first adapting Aesop's Fables as a school play in Grade 5), Renoir has also directed and acted on stage across Australia for many years.
More recently he's taken to appearing in front of the camera, with a string of student films to his credit, as well as a number of features.
Renoir is also a published author. "A Bunch Of Old Bastards" saw print in 2008. 2014 saw the release on Amazon of "The Wizard of Waramanga" - the first in a contemporary fantasy series entitled 'The Books Of Dubious Magic'. Renoir and his wife Meredith are establishing "Meredian Pictures & Words" as their own imprint for future fiction and non-fiction works.
With the aid and support of Screenworks and its members, Renoir is looking to expand into film and television scriptwriting and, ultimately, production.
Writing, directing and performing in "Nanny Ogg's Cookbook" in front of Sir Terry Pratchett in Sydney. His enthusiastic response was to allow me the honour of adapting his 'Discworld' novels for the stage. The most recent of those - "Witches Abroad" premiered in Maryborough, Qld before a successful season in Cardiff, UK.
