PAUL STEINER – Screenwriter

Paul studied Media Studies at RMIT. In 2000, he began working in the Australian film and television industry as a production assistant. Over the next decade, he worked his way up to become an assistant director on various local and international projects including Neighbours, Wilfred and Don’t Be Afraid Of The Dark.

In 2011, Paul returned to studies to pursue his passion in screenwriting. In 2015, he earned a BA in Creative Writing (First Class Honours) with a screenplay on the Gurindji Wave Hill Walk Off, titled 'Walk Off'.

'Walk Off' is a remarkable story of Indigenous resistance and resilience – from the Wave Hill Walk Off to the Hand Back of their traditional lands, the Gurindji people prove what was immortalised in the hit song about them “From Little Things Big Things Grow”.
