Artemis Bishop (She/They) is an emerging multidisciplinary composer living on Kaurna Country. With a background in classical composition and electronic music production, she creates evocative soundscapes that bring forth the underlying emotional narratives on screen.

Her recent works include being a composition intern on LESBIAN SPACE PRINCESS, directed by Emma Hough Hobbs and Leela Varghese with composer Michael Darren, as well as BURIED, directed by William Plant, and MARY IN THE MIRROR, directed by Justine Vlachoulis, which won the AIFF Audience Choice Award. She garnered these credits while still completing her Bachelor of Music (Creative Practice) at the University of Adelaide.

“The Screen Composing Mentorship provided me with the necessary industry skills and knowledge to pursue a career in screen composition. The mentorship was especially helpful in learning how to create more dynamic scores, especially when working with live instrumentalists. Without such knowledge, and the studio gear provided by the bursary, my time on LESBIAN SPACE PRINCESS wouldn’t have had the same level of quality.”
