The Darkside (PG)
Director Warwick Thornton assembles a collection of poignant, sad, funny and absurd true ghost tales from across Australia and brings them to life with some of Australia’s most iconic actors as the storytellers. Honest, mater of fact first hand accounts illuminate a black perspective on the other side.

In April of 2012 Warwick Thorton and Scarlett pictures did a callout around Australia for people to come forward with their Indigenous ghost stories. The one rule – the stories must be first hand. They were inundated with ghostly stories from almost every corner of the country. From black and white people eager to share their stories.

The call out was for stories that were “the scarier the better” but a strange thing happened. When Warwick started looking through the list of stories he saw a pattern. The stories were mostly about family who had passed away and many of them were very emotional and poignant. They were about connection to the otherside – connection to family.

Cast includes Sacha Horler, Deborah Mailman, Bryan Brown ,Claudia Karvan and Shari Sebbens.
