Screenworks is calling for submissions from members to have their early development concepts considered for inclusion in Screenworks pitching slate at the 2016 Screen Producers Australia Conference, Screen Forever, in Melbourne in November.
Screenworks will take selected pitches to seek market interest from broadcasters and producers attending Screen Forever.

Deadline for submission is midday Tuesday 18 Oct
Preference will be given to Screenworks members who participated in Screenworks Pitching Program by attending events such as Screenworks Prepare to Pitch and Meet the Broadcasters and have booked in for one on one consultations with distribution expert Victoria Baldock (which can be arranged through Screenworks office)
Participating pitches will be selected by Screenworks staff, based on the quality of the submission and the relevance to the opportunity. Successful submissions will be asked to supply 5 copies of full colour professionally printed sales flyers.

Film and television distribution expert Victoria Baldock will run a 4 hour workshop on how to prepare a pitch and one page pitch document that can be used to attract broadcast, producer and investment interest.
This workshop will assist writers, producers and content creators identify the key saleable elements of their concepts and to prepare pitch documents. The pitch documents can then be submitted for Screenworks to consider for presenting at the Screen Producers Association conference in November.
In preparation, participants need to submit a one page pitching document using this pitch template, by midday Thursday 1 Sept 2016.

- What is involved in a pitch
- Understanding the market place opportunities and knowing your audience
- How to listen to a broadcaster’s brief and pitch your project accordingly
- Review and assistance with the key elements of your pitch
What you need to have prepared for the session:
- a draft one page pitch document, to be submitted by midday Friday 2nd Sept 2016
- a verbal 2 minute pitch

Victoria Baldock
Having been in media sales for over 20 years – in airtime sales, PR and international distribution – Victoria Baldock has pitched a great many projects to a great many broadcasters.
As Head of International Sales for Southern Star between 1997 – 2004, Victoria contracted millions of dollars worth of licensing agreements – placing thousands of hours of content with broadcasters all over the globe – The America’s, Europe, Eastern Europe, Asia, Middle East, Africa, Australia and New Zealand.
In 2004, Victoria founded Verve Entertainment, an independent boutique distribution company representing over 60 Producers including The Seven Network, Beckers, Granada, Distraction Formats, Engine Entertainment and a great number of independent producers including Quail Television (Aust), Vokyo Entertainment (Aust) , Screendoor (Canada) , Freehand (Aust), Black Diamond (UK), Comedy Time (US) and Top Shelf (New Zealand)
In 2013 Verve Entertainment’s focus shifted from placing projects internationally- to representing international catalogues into Australia and New Zealand. Currently Verve is enjoying a further shift, evolving as a Distribution Manager, working in consultancy with Producers preparing their projects for International Distribution, preparing pitch, marketing and deliverable materials and placing projects with the most suitable distribution partners in Australia and Internationally.
With an avid interest in the rapidly evolving world of content distribution and consumption, coupled with an in-depth knowledge of effective windowing of content rights, Victoria’s strengths are her un-wavering ability to know what content can be placed where.
