SCREEN COMPOSING MENTORSHIP PROGRAM FOR FOUR REGIONALLY-BASED SCREEN COMPOSERS
Applications are now open for Screenworks’ 2nd annual Screen Composing Bootcamp. This unique program will give four emerging composers from regional areas in NSW, Victoria and Queensland, an opportunity to escalate their career through a tailored mentoring program with some of Australia’s most accomplished screen composers.
Screenworks Screen
Composing Bootcamp also includes an all-expense-paid trip to a metro centre
so that the selected participants can shadow their mentor, meet composers and
immerse themselves in the screen composing industry.
Ken Crouch, CEO of
Screenworks said, “Thanks to
increased support from APRA AMCOS, this year we are able to extend this program
beyond NSW to include Victoria and Queensland, so that four emerging regional
composers from across 3 states will now be able to benefit from this
educational program and build their confidence and capacity in composing music
for screen content”
Michelle O’Donnell, Manager Film and TV at APRA AMCOS, explained, “APRA AMCOS is committed to nurturing the next generation of composers. We’re proud to support this valuable mentoring opportunity for regional screen composers, allowing them to connect with the industry and further their composing career”.
This program is made possible with the generous support of the highly successful composing mentors including: Adam Gock, The D.A’s Office (Masterchef, Gogglebox) Bryony Marks, inSync Music (2040, Barracuda, Summer Heights High), Rhonda Davidson-Irwin (Outgoing CEO of Music Australia) and Guy Gross (The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, East West 101, Farscape)
Screen composers living in regional Victoria, NSW and Queensland are encouraged to head to www.screenworks.com.au and complete the online registration form. Applications will close at midnight on Sunday March 24th 2019.
Screenworks and APRA AMCOS acknowledges the need to address the gender imbalance within the Australian and New Zealand music industry. At least 50% of the selected participants will be female.
