Screenworks has today released its full program for Regional to Global 2026, featuring a rich representation of Australian screen industry leaders – including key decision makers and distinctive creative voices – who will gather in Lennox Head for Australia’s premier regional Screen Forum this September.
Regional to Global will this year feature over 60 speakers across 20+ sessions on the main stage and 20+ intimate roundtables, with industry leaders also sitting down for 30+ one-on-ones, all as part of a jam packed schedule across two days. Delegates can enjoy lunchtime learnings and relaxed networking – all taking place just 15 minutes from Byron Bay.
AACTA award nominated Australian actress Teresa Palmer will feature in Career Spotlight: Teresa Palmer in Conversation, highlighting her remarkable film and television career that continues to connect with audiences locally and internationally. Teresa, whose credits include Hacksaw Ridge, The Clearing and The Family Next Door, will appear in conversation with writer and executive producer Samantha Strauss – the duo collaborated on The Last Anniversary.
Actress and co-creator Miranda Tapsell is set to take the stage for Top End Bub: Meet the Creators to discuss the distinctly regional hit comedy television series, alongside co-creator Joshua Tyler, and producer Rosemary Blight.
Meet the Creators additionally spotlights Leviticus in a feature film case study, with writer/director Adrian Chiarella discussing the Sundance-acclaimed, genre-defying Australian film – moderated by Screenworks CEO Lisa Rose.
Meet the Creators will also see writer and showrunner Liz Doran and co-executive producer Courtney Wise hit the stage to discuss My Brilliant Career, Delvene Delaney and Victoria Baldock for Love of An Icon: The Legend of Crocodile Dundee, and actor/comedian/writer Steph Tisdell, writer/producer Caden Pearson plus Rowena Billard (Head of Industry & Audience Partnerships, Screen QLD) for Taste of the Tropics.

The Commissioner Confidential: What They’re Really Looking For panel will cover ideas that grab attention to projects that make it though the decision making process – featuring Todd Abbott (Commissioning Editor – Comedy, ABC), Kalita Corrigan (Commissioning Editor – Screen, Documentary & Specialist, ABC), Cieron Cody (Senior Commissioning Editor, NITV) and Joseph Maxwell (SBS Head of Unscripted).
The Visionaries Shaping Modern TV will take audiences inside the brilliant minds of some of Australia’s most original screen voices, as they share ideas, creative instincts and imagine what TV can become – Liz Doran (Showrunner, My Brilliant Career), Samantha Strauss (Showrunner, Apple Cider Vinegar), Vanessa Gazy (Creator, Eden), Kodie Bedford (Creator – Reckless) and moderator Nicholas Verso (Creator – Invisible Boys).
Inside a Mock Writers’ Room with writer Sara Khan, writer/showrunner Joshua Tyler and note-taker AJ Kitchener will capture a unique behind-the-scenes look at the writers’ room process and how note-taking captures creative conversations in real time.
This year’s Regional to Global also introduces the inaugural Screenworks’ Lifetime Achievement Award, recognising an outstanding contribution to the Australian screen industry, presented by Screenworks Chairperson, Tracey Mair.
The 2026 program includes representatives from Screen NSW, Screen Australia, Screen Queensland, Screen Canberra, South Australian Film Corporation (SAFC), Screen Producers Australia (SPA), Australian Writers’ Guild (AWG), Australian Directors’ Guild (ADG), Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), Special Broadcasting Service (SBS), National Indigenous Television (NITV), Foxtel Group and Stan – plus beloved Australian actor, comedian and writer Steph Tisdell who will serve as MC across the two-day event.
The event is supported by major government partner Screen NSW, and financed with the assistance of Screen Australia. Valued event partners include Netflix, Media Super, Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA), Business NSW, Screen Producers Australia (SPA), Screenrights, Ballina Shire Council, Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS).
Registrations for Roundtables are also set to open as part of the official Regional to Global Connections sidebar, providing attendees a chance to join intimate group discussions with select speakers – delegates can register for limited roundtable spots at 9am AEST on Tuesday 25 August.
Regional to Global kicks off in just four weeks, with tickets now on sale including access to the full two day Screen Forum on Wednesday 9 & Thursday 10 September, plus evening networking events Screenrights Happy Hour and the Netflix Opening Night Drinks. Single day tickets to the event will also be released on 25 August.
