Screenworks in partnership with Matchbox Pictures and with the support of Screen Australia and Create NSW present;
A look into the writing of a TV series in the regional town of Lismore.
A script development lab is being held in Lismore with a view to creating the TV series Best Medicine. Key participants from the script development lab will speak about the development process, the expected outcomes and the opportunities it brings to the region.

BIOS
HOLLY PHILIPS – International Guest Writing Consultant
Holly specialises in Teen and Young Adult drama, she is lead writer and creator of Young Adult series The Athena, starring Ella Balinska for Sky due to air in 2019. She is also lead writer and creator on teen series Get Even for BBC/NETFLIX, adapted from the novel Get Even by Gretchen McNeil, due to film in 2019.
Previous credits include story editor and writer on Dance Academy 2 which (among others) won a Logie and an AWGIE. Holly also wrote and created the original series Nearly Famous for E4 and was one of a team of writers on the BAFTA nominated Sugar Rush for Channel 4. She’s also written episodes of Dead Gorgeous for ABC/CBBC and The 4 O’clock Club, Hank Zipzer, Millie Inbetween, So Awkward, Eve and The Secret Life Of Boys for CBBC. As well as Robin Hood for BBC One, teen series The Lodge for Disney and Scandi Noir Trapped for ZDF/BBC4, due to air winter 2018.
PADDY MACRAE – Scripted Development Manager, Matchbox Pictures
As Scripted Development Manager at Matchbox Pictures Paddy works across the full slate of scripted drama. In past has been across series including Barracuda, Glitch, Nowhere Boys, Seven Types of Ambiguity, The Slap, Safe Harbour, The Straits and all three seasons of Wanted for Channel Seven & Netflix. Paddy holds a BA of Film & TV from Swinburne an MA in Screenwriting from the Victorian College of the Arts.
TIM WILLIAMS – Creator of Best Medicine
Tim Williams is Development Assistant at Matchbox Pictures and the Creator of Best Medicine. After initially overseeing pitch submissions, Tim has recently taken a more active role in the Scripted team, developing concepts and contributing to pitch material. In the past Tim has been involved with series including Wanted, Glitch, The Family Law and Seven Types of Ambiguity. Tim holds a BA of Creative Writing from RMIT and MA in Screenwriting from the Victorian College of the Arts.
JUSTIN DONOGHUE – Development Executive, Screen Australia
Justin has 20 years’ experience working across film and television development, production and distribution. In London he worked on projects for Hallmark Entertainment, Channel Four Films, Channel Five, Downtown Pictures and Kudos Film and Television. He has worked on the development and production of a diverse slate of feature films in the UK, Europe and South Africa. In 2011 he returned to Australia and joined Screen NSW as a Development and Production Executive and also ran the Aurora script development program. Justin joined Screen Australia as a Development Executive at the end of 2014, where he works across drama development and initiatives for features, web and television series and extended reality.
