Dear Screenworks Family,
We want to say a big thank you for all of the lovely messages and emails of support that we have received since deciding to cancel our 2020 Business of Producing. We also want to acknowledge the generosity and understanding of so many of our suppliers and partners that have helped us to minimise the financial impact that the cancellation of Business of Producing will have on Screenworks.
We know that it is a difficult time for everyone in the screen industry as the impact of COVID-19 is really starting to take effect. Screenworks remains committed to continuing to provide support and opportunities to regional screen practitioners during these unprecedented times.
Our team is hard at work this week developing a number of online professional development training opportunities that will be rolled out in the coming months. We will be making announcements about these opportunities in the coming days.
Many of our members will already have had jobs postponed or cancelled and will be challenged by lack of work and income in the short term. It appears that many of the productions scheduled for regional Australia over the next few months have now been put on hold and many freelancers and businesses in these regions will be significantly affected.
We know that a lot of people will be doing it tough and we will continue to look for ways that we can help. If you think of a way we might be able to help, please feel free to contact us by email or give us a call.
