Writer, director, script editor and producer Charlie de Salis is the clinic consultant for the next Screenworks Development Clinic. With his extensive experience he is able to provide professional advice across many genres and formats. Charlie has credits in documentary, feature films, short films, television drama, television commercials and high end corporate production (see Charlies short biog below).
WHAT IS A DEVELOPMENT CLINIC?
Development Clinics are an opportunity for emerging or professional producers, writers or directors to book a consultation with an industry professional to get advice with developing their concept or production.
Appointments are confidential, conducted on a one-on-one basis and of one-hour duration. Participants are encouraged to email any possible briefing material in advance in order to maximise the consultation opportunity.
Several projects which have been brought to previous clinics have gone on to achieve funding and production – take the leap!
Cost: $80 for Screenworks members / $100 for non-members (GST Inclusive)

CHARLIE DE SALIS BIOG
Charlie is an experienced writer, director, script editor, producer and screen content creator with credits in documentary, feature films, short films, television drama, television commercials and high end corporate production. He has script edited or consulted on 3 produced feature films (Undertow, Bad Karma and Deception) and a telemovie (Cliffy), as well a number of projects in development.
Charlie is a project assessor for Screen Queensland and Screen Tasmania, and has completed the professional benchmark Arista residential script development workshop and Script Factory development workshops, with funding from Screen Australia. He has worked as screenwriting, producing and directing mentor for Queensland screen agency Qpix, and has mentored short film projects for Northern Rivers Screenworks.
As a drama writer Charlie has had three short films and three television plays produced for the screen, and is currently developing a television series. His short films have screened at numerous international festivals, including Venice, Cannes and Melbourne. In the factual arena, he recently completed writing and consulting on the feature documentary Show Me The Magic and the 3D Imax feature documentary Last Of The Great Apes.
