The Screenworks team has been working hard to bring you one of the best Regional to Global programs yet in celebration of its 25th year and we can now unveil the first 10 guest speakers who will be joining us from 18-20 June in beautiful Lennox Head which is just 15 minutes from Byron Bay.

There will be a mix of screen industry trailblazers in attendance including visionary producers, respected commissioners, and celebrated creatives. The first line up announcement includes guest speakers from SBS, ABC, Binge and Foxtel who will take participants on a deep dive into some of Australia’s most renowned film and TV productions.

These guest speakers will be engaging in lively panel discussions, delivering compelling case studies and interactive workshops that will explore a range of elements and issues critical to a successful screen industry.

Regional to Global has always been enjoyed as a fun and accessible screen industry event. It’s a great way for you to meet and make inspiring and career changing connections. There will also be opportunities for you to book meetings with the guest speakers through Regional to Global Connections (more announcements about Regional to Global Connections coming soon) or to meet in more relaxed and friendly environments through the many networking events.

With this announcement, Early Bird tickets are now available at $250 for Screenworks members and $380 for non-Screenworks members. Prices will increase once the next guest speaker lineup is made live.

These are the first 10 guest speakers who will be attending Regional to Global 2025:

Nakul Legha leads the commissioning of all scripted content at SBS Australia, driving the network’s flagship series like FOUR YEARS LATER, its award-winning short form slate of Digital Originals, and industry initiatives that amplify new and diverse voices. He joined SBS in 2024 from Netflix, where he helped establish the streamer’s content strategy in ANZ and oversaw a slate of original scripted series, feature films and documentaries, including BOY SWALLOWS UNIVERSE, WELLMANIA and ONEFOUR: AGAINST ALL ODDS. He also spearheaded Netflix’s ANZ film & TV licensing, co-productions and programming, proudly bringing Australian stories to global audiences including FISK, THE STRANGER, SUPERWOG and RUN RABBIT RUN. Nakul started his career as an entertainment and IP lawyer, including at the ABC where he worked on content strategy, production and commercial negotiations.

Joseph Maxwell oversees commissioning for all unscripted content at SBS Australia. This ranges from cutting edge documentaries, to travel and food shows and big entertainment events. His slate of shows at SBS range from returning series such as WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE? to landmark documentaries such as THE AUSTRALIAN WARS and international entertainment events such as EUROVISION. In 2023 he oversaw the commissioning and launch of ALONE AUSTRALIA – the highest rating commission in SBS’s history.

Isabella Torv joined the Foxtel Group Scripted Originals team as their Scripted Development Executive in 2023. In this role, Bella works closely with the Head of Scripted Originals, Lana Greenhalgh, to commission and develop bold, brand-defining Scripted television for Foxtel Group. Prior to Foxtel Group, Bella was the Development Executive at renowned Australian production company Easy Tiger where she worked on multi-award-winning projects such as COLIN FROM ACCOUNTS (Binge/Foxtel), THE TWELVE (Binge/Foxtel), TERRITORY (Netflix) and many more in various stages of development.

Lana Greenhalgh is Head of Scripted Originals at the Foxtel Group and began working with Foxtel in 2015 after leaving a career in the talent management industry to pursue her passion for television drama. She began as Scripted Production Coordinator working across Foxtel’s scripted production and development slate including WENTWORTH, A PLACE TO CALL HOME, PICNIC AT HANGING ROCK, AUSTRALIA DAY, SECRE CITY: UNDER THE EAGLE, LAMB OF GODS, THE END UP UPRIGHT. Lana was promoted to Head of Scripted Originals for the Foxtel Group in 2023 where she works on the procurement development, and production of all Foxtel Group scripted commissions. She most recently oversaw production as Executive Producer on the first BINGE Original series, LOVE ME (Season 1 and 2), and Season 2 of the critically acclaimed Foxtel Series UPRIGHT, as well as working across critically-acclaimed Foxtel Group Originals, STRIFE (Season 1 and 2), THE TWELVE (Season 1 and 2), COLIN FROM ACCOUNTS (Season 1 and 2), THE LAST ANNIVERSARY and MIX TAPE.

Brett Sleigh is Commissioning Editor – Scripted ABC TV. Brett has overseen the commissioning, development and production of over 40 scripted drama and comedy titles to date, amassing 350+ individual episodes as Executive Producer. An RMIT Screenwriting graduate, Brett’s background includes four seasons in the script department of BLUE HEELERS and writing and performing in numerous comedy festivals, including the Edinburgh Fringe. Prior to joining the ABC, Brett was a Commissioning Editor at SBS Television, working across their diverse slate of feature film, drama, animation and comedy titles. During his time at the ABC, Brett has Executive Produced a wide number of the network’s most successful, acclaimed and awarded series including PLEASE LIKE ME, JACK IRISH, UTOPIA, GLITCH and ROSEHAVEN. Current titles include the record breaking comedy FISK, internationally lauded drama THE NEWSREADER and the hugely successful debut of RETURN TO PARADISE.

Julie Eckersley is an award-winning producer and screen executive known for her bold leadership and creative innovation in Australia’s screen industry. As Head of Scripted at SBS, she spearheaded the reinvention of SBS Scripted, driving an increase in international investment and delivering a slate of groundbreaking, award-winning series including SAFE HOME, WHILE THE MEN ARE AWAY, EROTIC STORIES, SWIFT STREET and FOUR YEARS LATER. Julie’s credits include globally celebrated series like GLITCH (Netflix Original) and THE FAMILY LAW, which redefined cultural narratives. She has co-authored a manifesto called Freestyle TV and hosts a podcast called ‘We interrupt This Broadcast’ which provides a monthly wrap up on what’s happening with the Australian screen industry.

Jub Clerc Jub is a Nyul Nyul/Yawuru filmmaker from the Kimberley in WA.
A WAAPA graduate, Jub spent many years in theatre before working on shows such as THE CIRCUIT 1 & 2, BRAN NUE DAE, MAD BASTARDS, SATELLITE BOY, JANDAMARRA’S WAR, JASPER JONES and MYSTERY ROAD – S1. She has written and directed shorts STORYTIME, MUSIC MEN, MIN MIN LIGHT and multiple ICS’s (Indigenous Community Stories – mini docs), documentary STRUGGLING SONGLINES, episodes of THE HEIGHTS, TURN UP THE VOLUME and TOTAL CONTROL Season 3. Jub also wrote/directed her chapter ABBREVIATION of the feature anthology THE TURNING. Jub has reported/produced for AROUND THE TRAPS, hosted Mugu Kids for NITV and was a Soprano in PECAN SUMMER the world’s first Indigenous Opera. Her play THE FEVER AND THE FRET debuted at Yirra Yaakin and won the prestigious 2017 ‘Kate Challis Award’. Jub’s debut feature film SWEET AS won the Blackmagic Design and Innovation award at MIFF 2022, the NETPAC award at TIFF 2022, the Crystal Bear in Generation KPlus at Berlinale 2023, best feature at Māoriland 2023 plus many other international awards and selections. Jub has created her first web-series Warm Props and has also recently directed episodes on MYSTERY ROAD ORIGIN 2.

Cody Greenwood is the founder of Rush Films. She has produced numerous award-winning documentaries including the Universal Pictures documentary UNDER THE VOLCANO (SXSW 2021), OTTO BY OTTO (Winner – AACTA Best Documentary 2025, Stan Original), RENEE GRACE FIREPROOF (Winner – ADG Award 2025, Stan Original) and GIRL LIKE YOU (Winner – AWG Award 2022). She is currently in post-production on the feature film BIRTHRIGHT with writer/director Zoe Pepper. The film will be distributed by Madman Entertainment in late 2025.

Adam Zwar is a five-time AACTA Award-winning writer and producer who most recently wrote for the ABC hit, AUSTIN. His other credits include creating the popular Channel 10 comedy, MR. BLACK, currently being developed in the US by FOX, as well as co-creating the comedy series SQUINTERS (ABC), LOWDOWN (ABC, BBC) and WILFRED (SBS, FX). His factual writer-executive producer credits include, THE AGONY OF LIFE, which ran for six seasons on the ABC, and the seminal cricket documentaries UNDERARM: THE BALL THAT CHANGED CRICKET and BODYLINE: THE ULTIMATE TEST. Other writing credits include DARBY AND JOAN (Acorn), NO ACTIVITY (CBS), MEDIA STREET (Channel 7), and the feature film RATS AND CATS (MIFF, SXSW). Selected acting credits include SCRUBLANDS (Stan), TOP OF THE LAKE (Foxtel), PARTY TRICKS (Network Ten), RAKE (ABC), HOWZAT (Channel Nine), RUSH (Channel 10) and THE WEDDING PARTY (MIFF). Adam remains one of Australia’s leading voice-over artists, and his first book, TWELVE SUMMERS, is out through Hachette.

Lucas Taylor is an AWGIE and SPA award-winning writer and director. He is the creator, executive producer and writer of the hit Stan Original series BLACK SNOW, starring Travis Fimmel, which was nominated for 7 AACTAs. Lucas is also the creator, executive producer and writer of IN LIMBO, a six part comedy- drama for the ABC, which won Best Comedy at the 2023 SPA Awards. Lucas’s television credits include; HARROW (ABC), VIKINGS: ATHELSTAN’S JOURNAL (History), SECRETS & LIES (Ten), TEXAS RISING: THE LAST SOLDIER (History) and THE STRANGE CALLS (ABC). From 2012-16 Lucas was Creative Director at Emmy and BAFTA award winning production company Hoodlum. His work included multiplatform campaigns for major film and television properties including THE BOURNE LEGACY (Universal) and DANCE ACADEMY (ABC). Lucas was also a key member of Hoodlum’s development team, which generated hit shows including; HARROW (ABC) and FIVE BEDROOMS (Ten).
