With a view to creating jobs and increasing economic benefits for North Western NSW, two of Australia’s most experienced ‘TV and Film Production Attraction’ professionals will be in Tamworth on Tuesday September 18 to show property owners, council members and filmmakers how to bring film and television production to this region.

Matt Carroll, Senior Manager Screen Destination Attraction at Create NSW and producer of some of Australia’s most renowned films (Sunday Too Far Away, Breaker Morant) along with Location Manager Colin McDougall (Pacific Rim Uprising, Mad Max Fury Road) will lead the seminar on why and how to attract film and television production to North Western NSW.

These regions are surrounded by some of the richest and varied agricultural country in the nation. National Parks, diverse architecture, historic townscapes and quaint country villages combined with easy access via rail, road and air are all excellent resources to attract TV and Film productions” says Matt Carroll.  “With better promotion of these significant assets, there is potential to attract more inbound screen productions, bolster the local economy and create more jobs.”

Northern NSW-based screen industry organisation Screenworks with the support of Create NSW are bringing this seminar to the region and targetting it to the local government areas of Tamworth, Gunnedah, Liverpool Plains and surrounds.

Attendees will find out about the incentives on offer for productions filming in regional NSW, the role of the location manager, the aesthetic and logistical requirements of film locations and how to publicize their property or land to production companies.

If you are keen to learn more about the location scouting profession or have ever wanted your property to be used in a feature film or TV series, you should be attending this seminar so that you can find out about the business of filming locations, and how to market your property to generate extra revenue” said Ken Crouch, Screenworks CEO. “This seminar is intended for aspiring location scouts and managers, as well as property owners, government location liaison officers and tourism officers”.
