Finn Clarke is screen composer based in Tasmania, Australia. He was nominated for ‘Best Music for an Advertisement’ at the 2024 Australian Screen Music Awards. His long-form credits include THE RAFTSMEN, THE PLATYPUS GARDEN and I’M SO SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS. He received Music Australia’s 2024 Export Development Fund and was part of the 2023 edition of Regional Screen in LA. He also co-founded the Tasmanian Media Composers Collective, and is a board member of the not-for-profit Apple Box Studio.

Finn grew up with diverse musical influences, playing violin in orchestras, fiddle in folk bands and electric violin in an EDM duo. He blends this background with his classical composition studies (UTAS Conservatorium of Music) and experience in location sound recording (DEADLOCH, BAY OF FIRES, MUSTER DOGS) to compose story-driven scores that fuse classical melodic writing, minimalist sensibilities, experimental sound textures and folk music influences. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking, windsurfing, and patting cats.

“Regional Screen in LA directly led to scoring the ABC comedy series I’M SO SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS and collaborating with U.S. score production company Joy Music House on an upcoming show. It also opened doors to other exciting projects, including two feature documentaries with Wildbear Entertainment, multiple short films, ad campaigns, and a musical.

I’m incredibly grateful for the foundation Screenworks has given me and can’t recommend their programs highly enough to emerging creatives looking to take their careers to the next level!”
