Our Crew Directory is used by inbound productions and professionals seeking to recruit crew and vendors for their projects. Screenworks regularly fields inquiries for crew, and we refer to our Directory for these.

I’m thinking about creating a listing, so how does it work?

The Crew Directory is an easily searchable database organised by different departments for local crew and broken down into filtered categories, covering everyone from sound recordists and gaffers, to productions assistants, runners, caterers and first aid officers. It is completely free, with no cost to join.

When you create your listing, you will be asked to select three different categories (for example, line producer, production coordinator, researcher). Anyone searching the database can filter their search results by selecting the categories they’re specifically crewing for. If one of the categories you’ve selected is line producer, your name will appear under this filter.

Anyone searching the Directory can check the credits and biography you list. If you choose to publish your email and/or phone number, you can be contacted directly.

Eligibility:

All listings are reviewed by a Screenworks team member and can only be made public once reviewed and approved. The following eligibility criteria below applies.

  • You must live in the Northern Rivers region of NSW; we define this region as incorporating the Ballina, Bellingen, Byron, Clarence Valley, Coffs Harbour, Kyogle, Lismore, Richmond Valley, and Tweed Local Government Areas.
  • You must have at least 1x professional credit; we define this as a long-form credit, such as a television series or feature film, that has been broadcast and/or streamed and/or released theatrically.

Once you’ve initiated a listing in the Directory, make sure to press submit. All new listings and listing updates are reviewed by a Screenworks team member before being made public; your listing cannot be reviewed if it is not submitted. You may also be contacted by a Screenworks team member to discuss your listing before it is published.

Steps to creating an effective profile:

  • The more information you provide in your profile, the easier it is for productions to crew efficiently and effectively, and the more likely you are to be contacted.
  • Including contact information, a brief bio and a list of your credits (plus the roles you worked on each of those credits) will make for a standout profile and allow HODs to easily contact you once they know your experience and area of expertise.
