Unprecedented for the Australian screen industry, Screenworks has rolled out a new online industry communication tool allowing filmmakers across Australia to connect, engage and collaborate unlike before!

Now in its 20th year of operation, Screenworks has created Screenworks Connect as an online community to enrich business and communications across the screen industry. Servicing regional storytellers has been at the heart of Screenworks’ services so this additional tool will offer even more collaborative opportunities to regional filmmakers and become the pulse of what is happening in the Australian film community.

Users of Screenworks Connect will be able to engage with live feeds, comments and sharing, direct messaging via public and private groups – just to name a few of its features. It is accessible via desktop or by downloading the My Glue mobile app from the Apple App Store or Google Play.

Hosted by Glue Up, the online community platform is free for Screenworks Members and will be the industry go-to for all things filmmaking in regional Australia.

“The screen community that we engage with is spread out across regional Australia,” explained Screenworks CEO Ken Crouch. “We now have an online platform that will enable the screen community to easily connect and interact with each other, no matter where they are.

“This amazing new platform will help people in the screen industry come together and form collaborations, new stories and productions as well as connecting key industry decision-makers with regional practitioners.”

Award-winning Australian Actor and Screenworks Chairperson Dustin Clare said “20 years on and this digital transformation of Screenworks will see genuine benefits to our membership, connecting what at times can be a disparate or remote part of Australia’s screen community. This will allow regional Australian screen practitioners to connect more easily and communicate, along with providing new tools to inform and educate our membership and provide new avenues for engagement.

“The digital transformation of Screenworks has been of high strategic priority for the board and we are excited with the staff to be able to provide these new opportunities for regional Australians. We are always striving to improve how we deliver and communicate genuine benefits to our members through regional Australia and today marks a new phase in the future of Screenworks.”

Screenworks’ story began in the fertile filmmaking community of the Northern Rivers, however, Screenworks has managed to increase their presence to become the peak regional screen industry body right across Australia and that means more for its members!

An overview of just some of the features and benefits offered by the new Screenworks Online Community Platform (Screenworks Connect) is provided further below.
