Screen NSW CEO Ms Maureen Barron will be visiting the Northern Rivers region

Screenworks invites interested industry professionals to come along and meet Maureen and hear her deliver a talk about the Screen Industry, trends, opportunities, including regional, and the funding / incentives program Screen NSW is running.

Screenworks will provide tea and coffee and request a donation of $5 to cover costs.

Ms Maureen Barron has more than 30 years experience in the screen industries sector, including over 10 years serving as Chair of the Australian Film Commission (AFC).

For 12 years, Ms Barron served as a senior executive with Southern Star Group, as Head of Business Affairs and later General Manager, Corporate and Company Secretary. From 1991 to 1995 Ms Barron was the Business Affairs Manager and Company Secretary for the Film Finance Corporation.

Ms Barron has previously served as Vice President of the Screen Producers of Australia Association (SPAA) and is a former member of the Copyright and Copyright Law Review Committee. She also held a practising certificate as a solicitor from 1981 to 2008.

In 2009 Ms Barron was appointed as Chief Executive Officer for Screen Queensland.

Ms Barron is the Chair of the Intellectual Property Awareness Foundation Limited as well as a Board Member of Screenrights Limited.

In January 2010 Ms Barron was honoured for her service to the Australian screen industry with a Member of the Order of Australia Award on Australia Day.
